If you want to look like Thor, you gotta lift like Thor!
Deadlifts are a life changer. They can help transform your physique and your mentality. But they also carry a level of danger. So technique and execution is crucial.
You want to set yourself right next to the bar, your shins nearly touching - the bar should be over the MIDDLE of your foot. Don't fight gravity and physics, keep the bar as close to your body as possible.
When you're at the bottom position, make sure you're tight and coiled like a spring. I use my breath and my glutes and hamstrings in one big motion to vault myself off of the floor. The prep breath and hip movement is the hitting ignition before take off.
Keep your arms right next to your legs, they are acting as hooks and ropes, don't try to curl or row the body towards you. That will most certainly lead to an injury down the line.
